If you have an IFTA license for the current year, you can renew your license and get stickers online at OSCAR. You can also pay online at OSCAR using Electronic Money Transfer (EFT) or a credit or debit card. To pay by cheque or money order, you must submit Form IFTA-21-V, the voucher and instructions for international Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) licences and stickers, which will be renewed electronically, along with your payment. Form IFTA-21-V is only available through OSCAR. IFTA fuel tax reports can be submitted electronically using a web file or EDI software, or on paper using Form 56-101, International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Fuel Tax Report (PDF) and Form 56-102, Supplement to the IFTA Fuel Tax Report (PDF). If you are a trucking operator, report all fuel consumption taxes due in New York and other jurisdictions to a single basic jurisdiction. IFTA applies to most Canadian states and provinces. New York State participates in IFTA to administer and collect its fuel consumption tax. Ask your base jurisdiction for an IFTA license and sticker for each eligible motor vehicle you drive in more than one IFTA member jurisdiction.

NOTE: Since April 2018, IFTA Inc. has added types of hydrogen and electric fuel to IFTA`s tax rate matrix. Eligible commercial vehicles traveling in more than one U.S. state or Canadian province must file a consolidated fuel tax report (e.g.B. gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas, compressed natural gas, and liquefied natural gas taxes) under the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). If you purchase more decals than those used, they must be kept for a period of four years for verification purposes. You must keep track of all IFTA stickers you purchase and receive, and you must be able to provide a complete inventory of all used and unused stickers. Prorate and Fuel Tax (PRFT) has an online system, TAP – PRFT Taxpayer Access Point. If New York State is your base jurisdiction, follow the steps below to get your first IFTA license and stickers. You can update your account information while completing the renewal or addition sticker application or contact the Motor Carriers Office at 1-800-400-7115 (TTY: 711). Follow the instructions in the “Other Taxes and Fees” menu and then “Taxes and Special Fees”. Submitting your IFTA report is fast, easy and convenient with Webfile. To submit and/or pay taxes or fees with Webfile, you need a personal identification code (Webfile number). Each qualified vehicle must affix 1 sticker to each side of the vehicle. The stickers are valid from 1 January to 31 December per year. If you qualify as an IFTA licensee, the base jurisdiction will send you an IFTA license, which you will need to copy and paste into each of your qualified motor vehicles. Approval may be granted for a maximum period of seven consecutive days and applies only to the vehicle for which it has been granted.
